30 Day Book Meme – Day 2

30 Day Book Meme:

Day 01 – The best book you read last year
Day 02 – A book that you’ve read more than three times: This is easy, not a single one! The most I’ve read a book was one and a half times (re-reading passages for a paper), maybe two when I was a kid. College keeps my reading schedule busy and during the summer I read as many books as I can, once.

Do you like re-reading? I think it is great in a lifetime period, but I’m not one of these people who read the same book once a year. At least, not yet! However I’m sure I’ll re-read The Woman in White and Jane Eyre in a few years.

I love re-reading, but I usually space rereads out by a few years. There are definitely some books I’ve read that I’ve thought, “wow, this is so good and there’s so much there, that just to get it all, I need to reread it again–soon.” It’s hard to balance because there are so many books I want to read that I haven’t yet, as well as those I want to read again. Sometimes, though, I just like the comfort of a familiar friend.

I like re-reading too!….usually the classics. I’m due for quite a few re-reads. I haven’t done more than two or three re-reads this year. I’m planning on making 2012 a year of re-reads. Among them being Jane Eyre, The Mayor of Caster Bridge, Silas Marner, The Lord of the Rings, maybe Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrel…wow! I’ve so much I want to read again! …..

However, strangely, though I enjoyed the series, I never could re-read any of the Harry Potter books…. :-/

“Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” I re-read it because I wonder how Hunter Thompson managed to be so funny. How did he do it?
